  1. A treasure trove with over 1 million objects!

    Glasgow Museums Resource Centre (GMRC) is where we store the museums' collections when they're not on display at our Glasgow Museums venues. GMRC has over 1 million objects under one roof, so there’s something for everyone to enjoy!

  2. Behind The Scenes Tours

    Discover a world of amazing art and objects on one of our behind the scenes tours. The 17 purpose-built and environmentally controlled storage ‘pods’ at GMRC house an incredible array of pieces. Come and explore this special building with a fascinating guided tour.

  3. Mini Mondays

    On the first Monday of each month, young children can come along and explore the stores, handle objects, and get creative!

  4. Creative Sundays

    Learn a new skill at our new Creative Sunday adult workshops. Inspired by the museum collections, you can try your hand at life drawing, glass-painting, pottery and much more.

  5. Wee Creatives

    These playful sessions for little ones take place in our museum stores. Vibrant colours, interesting shapes and surprising stories are sure to keep everyone entertained.

  6. Sketch and De-stress

    Feeling a bit stressed out? Experience the positive effects that drawing can bring with these free monthly sessions. Experiment with new materials and techniques in a relaxing adults-only environment. No experience is necessary and all materials are provided.

  7. Store Hunters

    These fun workshops take place every Saturday afternoon and are a perfect weekend activity for the whole family.

  8. Macmillan Art and Craft Sessions

    Are you affected by cancer or do you know someone who is? These therapeutic craft sessions for adults affected by cancer are inspired by objects from the museum. All materials are provided and no experience is necessary.

    Every Monday, 11am-2pm (bring your own lunch)

  9. Writing Workshops: The Wordsmiths @ GMRC

    The Wordsmiths is a writing group developed in partnership between GMRC and the charity Revive MS. Come and discover the world of writing and museums! No experience is necessary.

  10. Festive Fun

    In the lead up to Christmas we have some great family-friendly activities planned. Make your own Christmas Kite, craft a beautiful Festive Lantern, take our Twelve Days of Christmas Tour, and more!
